Duchess of Cambridge's hair evolution

The Duchess of Cambridge is known for many things -- her "real woman" attitude, her impeccable fashion sense -- and of course, her flawless hair.

Lately, the Duchess has been rocking some slightly different-looking locks -- and we think we know why!

According to The Telegraph, the 31-year-old royal has split from longtime hairstylist James Pryce.

Pryce made a name for himself while working at Richard Ward Salon, where he started styling Kate's hair in 2003. He famously created the Duchess's demi-chignon for the royal wedding, and he also styled her luscious locks for the royal couple's official engagement announcement.

According to the Telegraph, Pryce fell out of favour with the palace after he branched out into a solo career.

"When he went solo and tried to tour around the USA -- he launched a Facebook page and Twitter account which featured hundreds of pictures of Kate and her various hairstyles to promote his business," a source tells the paper. "Obviously, that did not go down too well with the Palace at all."

Reportedly, Prince George's mom remains a loyal client to Pryce's former salon.

"Richard Ward still cuts Kate's hair and she has her color done at the salon," the source tells The Telegraph. ""Plus, she has her stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, who blow dries her hair for events."
