Olympic Style: Kate Middleton’s Looks from London 2012

Today saw Duchess Kate Middleton readying for the Olympics, as she made an appearance at the Road to 2012: Aiming High exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, celebrating Britain's top athletes.Abandoning her taupe L.K. Bennett pumps for a pair of pointy black Prada pumps, this is one of the more punchy ensembles we've seen Middleton in. Opting for a royal blue Stella McCartney shift dress, the Duchess of Cambridge paired her look with a long silver necklace by Cartier—one of the more prominent jewellery choices we've seen the Royal make. While Kate has earned a rep for her high-low dressing and repeating of some more expensive pieces, this piece may do away with that, retailing for just under $77,000.

After last being seen in head-to-toe designer (including a $77,000 Cartier necklace), Kate Middleton's outfit seemed to be a bit of an exercise in contrast, donning a $55 Hobbs frock. Middleton wore the dress to announce her newly-launched charitable initiative, a partnership with Greenhouse which will improve the quality of sports and coaching in schools and communities, along with Prince William and Harry.

The Duchess was spotted greeting the Olympic torch at Buckingham Palace, in a pair of royal blue skinny jeans from Zara and a simple white Team GB polo (a similarly themed colour palette as her Stella McCartney ensemble seen last week).

While we've had our fingers crossed that Kate Middleton would wear something by Londoner Christopher Kane for some time, truthfully, we had a difficult time imagining the Duchess in one of the designer's mix-and-clash creations. However, it seems that Middleton has found her stride in a shiny satin mint green coat dress by Kane, similar to the hues we saw in his Resort collection, which she wore to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies in London. The Duchess also squashed recent pregnancy rumours by sipping on champagne.

While we were hoping to see the Duchess continue to experiment with new designers during the Olympics as she did during the Opening Ceremony, Day 3 saw Middleton in her trusty Smythe blazer, worn during her Canadian tour. The Duchess paired the topper with a Team GB polo and pearl earrings.

After going slightly casual while attending an equestrian event earlier in the day, the Duchess opted to amp it up in a draped dove-grey Roksanda Ilincic dress to attend the UK's Creative Industries Reception. This is another piece we've previously seen on Middleton, when she wore it last year while in Los Angeles.

While the Duchess has earned a rep for repeat wears, Day 4 saw her take her habit to a new level, wearing the same look we saw her at yesterdays events, (save for swapping out her Team GB polo for a nautical sweater) wearing a Smythe blazer and Stuart Weitzman wedges. While we understand that being a spectator doesn't necessitate evening wear, we do hope to see Middleton introduce some new pieces into her repertoire.

On Day 6 of the Olympics, the Duchess opted for another fashion repeat, donning the cobalt blue Stella McCartney shift she wore during preceding events. The Duchess topped off the dress with her Smythe blazer (again!), but took it off once seated and watching the game so she could let loose.
