While we love the Erdem dress the Duchess wore to the Trooping of the Colour (the Queen's birthday celebration), we feel like it could have been paired with a more pared-down, minimal topper for less of a mumsy-feel.

The Duchess paired this red headpiece with a Alexander McQueen dress of the same hue for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We love the brilliant red-on-red, but could do without the flora and fauna—it makes an otherwise modern ensemble stuffy.

This look from the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations marks what we believe to be the Duchess' first hat repeat, wearing a navy satin hat with a Missoni coat, which we've also seen before.

Middleton showed her fondness for tailored Alexander McQueen and fascinators again during the Diamond Jubilee. Here we saw the Duchess in a pitch-perfect lacy peach frock and a matching hat with netting.

Worn to the ceremony marking Prince William's joining of the Order of the Garter, we're not too crazy about this all-navy ensemble. But seeing as that this was prior to the couple even announcing their engagement, we can look past it, given that the soon-to-be-Duchess wasn't yet privvy to the wonders of McQueen. And while we feel that this look falls flat, that didn't stop this hat being auctioned off for over $5000.

Oh, Canada! It almost goes without saying that this brilliant red maple leaf fascinator, worn on Canada Day during the couple's 2011 royal tour, gets our utmost approval.

To the wedding of William's cousin, Emily McCorquodale, the Duchess went for head-to-toe dove grey, topped off by a hat with a sculptural swirl by Whiteley.

We love that the Duchess got into the spirit of the Calgary Stampede during the couple's 2011 visit, and donned a cowboy hat by Smithbilt.

For St. Patrick's Day, we saw the Duchess trot out an emerald green coat dress and a sloped brown hat. While we love the rest of her look, the hat comes off as a slightly uninspired, safe choice.
