Our favourite way to celebrate those we love is through their tummy. What could be better than a box of goodies delivered right to their front door! Here are three of our festive, Canadian-made treats that ship across the country. Happy holidays!
The proceeds from these delicious fresh-baked goods go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports HIV/AIDS work in Africa. This holiday season, Eat My Words has teamed up with celebrity baker Anna Olson, host of Bake, who has designed three buttery shortbread flavours (mocha, demerara and Toblerone) with proceeds going to the foundation. Packaged in their beautiful blue hat box (see image above), the trio of cookies can be shipped anywhere in Canada. So make the day of a loved one that may live across the country while helping those less privileged on another continent – it’s the perfect gift that keeps on giving.
How much do you love fudge? And gourmet candy apples? And candied-nuts? Well, you've come to the right place! The Bruce County Nut and Fudge Company has all three. This Canadian company specializes in handmade small-batch goodies. (You wouldn't believe the commotion when a collection of their amazing treats were dropped off at the Chatelaine office.) These Canadian-inspired treats can be delivered across Canada and the U.S.
Ooh, la, la! German-born, Vancouver-based pastry chef and champion chocolatier Thomas Haas has got the goods – and he also delivers them. Since we all can’t get to beautiful Vancouver this December, you can order and ship his sumptuous chocolates and cookies (including his famous bake-your-own sparkle cookies) to your family and friends who’ve made the nice list.
