Essie Summer 2012As crazy as this may be, I honestly own more than 500 bottles of nail polish, so for me to find a color that I don’t already have is a pretty impressive feat. Lately, there haven’t been many polishes that stood out to me. Sure there was crackle and other effects, but as for plain colors I felt like I had seen it all (and apparently bought it all too..) so I have been in a little rut. That all changed the other day though, when I caught a glimpse of the latest Essie line for Summer 2012. Related: Essie Ballet Slippers Nail Polish Turns 30 I have always liked Essie polishes and of course I own a fair few (few hundred maybe?) but with this collection I was thoroughly impressed. Each of the colors in the collection scream summer and they are all shades I want to wear. Some of the shades are super simple for summer—a bright lime green like Mojito Madness or a neon orange like Fear or Desire. These are classics for a reason, though. I can totally picture a bright bikini and flip flops with an awesome pedicure in one of these shades. But wait, there’s more! A baby blue and soft sweet pink like Bikini So Teeny and Cascade Cool are pretty typical too, but adding a subtle shimmer to the polishes makes me take a second look. Related: Striped Ombré Nails Tutorial The biggest hit of the collection comes from All Tied Up, a rusty bronze with golden shimmer. I am seriously excited about these polishes and trust me, after all the shades I’ve seen (and own), if I’m impressed, that’s saying something special.
