"We're having a baby!" "It's a ----!" In this week's Celebrity Candy gallery, we're going to have some fun looking at the myriad ways celebrities announce their births and pregnancies.
Let's start with the most show-stopping recent announcement - KIMYE (as my mom likes to call them). Imagine announcing your pregnancy to 5,000 people at one time, and then inevitably to the world. That's what Kanye West did when he dropped the news at his concert earlier this week.
"Stop the music for a second. Stop the music," he said. "Can we make noise for my baby mama right quick?" His baby mama, girlfriend Kim Kardashian, was in the audience. Watch the clip here!

Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson gets the award for most creative and festive pregnancy announcements.
Baby #1: Jessica took to her official website on Halloween, 2011, posting a photo of herself dressed as a mummy, with the title "It's true! I'm going to be a mummy!"
Baby #2: Just recently, on Christmas Day, Jessica tweeted a beautiful photo of her eight-month-old baby, Maxwell Drew, sitting on the beach, with the words "BIG SIS" written in the sand in front of her. Jessica captioned the tweet, "Merry Christmas from my family to yours." Check it out here!

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves
You've gotta love Matthew McConaughey. I'm not sure exactly why, aside from the dashing good looks, but something in his warm birth announcements, which he makes himself (unlike many "old-school" A-listers), brings out that mysterious loveable quality. Here's what he wrote on his website when baby Livingston was born last week:
December 29, 2012: Camila (@iamcamilaalves) gave birth to our third child yesterday morning. Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey was born at 7:43am on 12.28.12. He greeted the world at 9lbs. and 21 inches. Bless up sic] and thank you for your well wishes. Happy New year, and just keep livin, Camila and Matthew McConaughey.

Beyonce & Jay-Z
Beyoncé and Jay-Z shocked the world when they announced that they were expecting their first child, Blue Ivy - at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
Beyoncé told the press she was pregnant when she first arrived at the VMAs, on the red carpet. Later that evening, at the end of her performance, the singer unbuttoned her sequined jacket, rubbed her belly and said, "Feel the love that's growing inside of me!" The camera then panned to proud dad-to-be, Jay-Z, jumping around with Kanye West backstage. And the world went wild! It was awesome. Check it out here.
As for the birth of baby Blue? BFF Gwyneth Paltrow was the first to confirm it. "Welcome to the world Blue!" she tweeted. "We love you already."

Adele
The famously private Grammy award-winning singer got gushy when she announced her pregnancy back in June on her official website:
Im [sic] delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx

Prince William & Duchess Kate
No surprise here: The royal couple announced their pregnancy via palace statement:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.
The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.

Viola Davis
Oscar and Tony award-winner Viola Davis and her hubby, Julius Tennon, sprung the news of their impending adoption at The Help premiere in Los Angeles, September 2011.
"We don't have any children," Julius told E! Online reporters, "but we're about to adopt a baby."
"Yup, yup we are!" Viola chimed in. "We're about to adopt a baby. My husband has two children - a 35 and a 33-year-old - and he's got six grandchildren...." She also revealed that they were adopting "domestically." Watch the clip here!

Pink & Carey Hart
Back in November 2010, Pink revealed her pregnancy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When Ellen asked why Pink might be "glowing," Pink replied, "I'm eating for two these days." Pink said she was nervous to come out with the news because she'd had a miscarriage in the past. "But, if I was going to talk about it with anyone," she told Ellen, "it was going to be you." Kris Allen
American Idol winner Kris Allen got dramatic on us when he tweeted news of his wife Katy's pregnancy amidst news that they were in a serious car crash.
"Thank you @Ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @zorropup [their French bulldog] and the little one we have on the way safe," he tweeted.
"Yes," he added, "I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy."

Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba relies on Facebook to make her baby announcements. Here's an excerpt from the Facebook update she posted when baby Haven was born, August 2011:
Cash and I are so excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Haven Garner Warren. She was born on Saturday, weighed 7lbs, and was 19 inches long. Healthy and happy! Big Sister Honor couldn't be more excited about the new addition to our family.

We expected something a little more outrageous from Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. But we'll take this!
Back in October 2011, after months of pregnancy rumours, Mariah finally confirmed the news with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush. "You're the first person I'm talking to," she insisted. "I didn't talk to anyone else. But, yes, we are pregnant; this is true."
In the intense exclusive interview, Mariah also shared why they'd worked so hard to keep the pregnancy private, and (along with Nick) talked a bit about the tough journey they took to conceive. Here's the clip.

Lisa Ling
Lisa Ling announced that she and her hubby, Dr. Paul Song, were expecting their first child by sharing an ultrasound picture on Anderson Cooper's daytime show, Anderson Live. "I was trying to keep it quiet for a long time," she told Anderson. "But now I'm getting to a point where I just look like I have a beer belly, so I figured I better share it publicly before people actually think I have this beer belly."
When Lisa said, "I just hope that this doesn't mean she's a complete spastic child when she grows up," Anderson asked about the baby's sex. "It's gonna be a girl," Lisa confirmed. "It is a girl!"
Gisele Bundchen & Tom Brady
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen got rather effusive when she announced the arrival of her second child with NFL quarterback Tom Brady.
"We feel so lucky to have been able to experience the miracle of birth once again and are forever grateful for the opportunity to be the parents of another little angel," she wrote on her Facebook page. "She is healthy and full of life. Thank you all for your support and well wishes. We wish you and your families many blessings."

Hilary Duff blogged her big news on her and hubby Mike Comrie's first wedding anniversary, August 2011. Here's an excerpt:
