Cat soothes crying baby to sleep

A dog may be man’s best friend, but a cat might be baby’s best babysitter.

A Canadian baby named Connar was not a happy baby, nor did his teary protests hint that a feline friend would be welcome.

Then black cat Stewie arrived at Connar’s side. Stewie’s patient stroking calmed the infant who fell asleep at the paws of the family pet.

Stewie stayed at the baby’s side, ensuring Connar was fast asleep. A kiss on the forehead and a knowing glance to the camera — the viral hit was filmed by Connar’s father, Aaron Grant — hinted that the cat knew exactly what he was doing.

I had a tabby cat for many years, cats are sensitive whenever I was sick she would come and lay beside me on the couch, she was terrific company.

My cat once stopped me from going into shock when I was bleeding profusely.Another kitty stopped me from being a chatterbox by very firmly putting a paw over my mouth! I could write so many stories of feline friendship but space is limited!!

My cat Oreo did the same for me..he dried my tears the night my Dad passed away.. He did the same thing just stayed with me with one paw over my tearing eye until I stopped crying.. I was so amazed and touched by Oreo's unconditional love. xoxox

Animals are sentient beings, in many instances they are probably capable of all of the emotions that humans have. They deserve far more rights and protection than we give them.

My cat knows when to touch without claws and be very gentle. Most pet/family animals are EXTREMELY gentle and loving. Indoor housecats are also one of the cleanest animals, inside and out. I never planned to have a cat, but I fed a starving stray and now I can't picture my life without one.

My cat does the same thing. Once I fell down and hollered 'Help, help!' and our cat came running in to the room make sure I was okay.
