Earlier this week, Angelina Jolie made headlines when she announced in a New York Times op-ed piece that she had a preventative double mastectomy.

But while Jolie's story is inspirational and courageous, it raises many questions for the average woman. How important is it for women to get tested for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations? Can all Canadian women get tested? Is surgery really the best option?
