‘TweetPee’ app tweets parents when it’s time to change baby’s diaper

Move over parental instincts, say hello to baby-app technology.

For those parents who need a little help determining when to change their baby's diaper, the TweetPee app designed by Huggies uses a humidity sensor attached to the outside of your child's diaper to determine when it's wet, and then tweets or texts you a message.

“Time to change!!!”

“Oops, did a few drops.”

“All OK here.”

Huggies Brazil is currently testing it with four parents and plans to expand that number to 10 in July, ABC reports. It is currently not available in any other markets.

The Guardian goes as far to call the TweetPee app one of the stupidest apps ever invented. Hey, they said it, not us.

"Obviously [parents] could check by actually looking inside the nappy, or inspecting the child's face for signs of discomfort like a good parent, but who's got the time for that nowadays?" writes Stuart Heritage.

It is unclear how often the humidity sensor, resembling a bird or owl, can check for wetness.

The app will keep track of how many diapers you've used out of your home supply, and will alert you when it's time to buy more -- which is precisely how Huggies benefits from this app.

Would you use an app like this if you had little ones at home? Do you think it would be useful or more of a nuisance?
