Need a pair of $490 boxers? You can buy them at Hermès

The French luxury clothing line Hermès is selling a pair of pleated boxer shorts for $490 CAD.

That's right, a single pair of underwear can cost you the same amount as a laptop or flat-screen TV.

According to the product description, the boxer shorts are made of cotton and have a "storage pouch." But do either of these little luxuries warrant the hefty price tag? Probably not.

The luxury brand is known for its high-priced handbags, but that's not all they sell. Horse lovers can pick up a $1,670 grooming bag. If that's not up your alley, you could always try one of their blankets, which will set you back nearly $1,400. Earlier this year, the company unleashed a $95,700 (CAD) T-shirt made of crocodile and chiffon.

In all fairness, Hermès is far from the only company with questionably-priced items.

German hosiery company, Falke, just released the world's most expensive luxury socks, which sell for $1,220 CAD. A pair of socks (only 10 were manufactured) is made of of Peruvian vicuña wool.

And Dolce & Gabbana is selling an infant-sized ivory lace dress for $500 CAD. Considering the wee one with outgrow it in a couple months, you've got to wonder who buys this sort of thing.
