Man proposes to girlfriend with custom sneakers

The day that men stop upping the ante with elaborate marriage proposals is the day many romantic hearts will shrivel up and die. But until that happens, be prepared to hear about proposals involving a wall of Post-it notes, an academic paper and a self-made children's story book.

And as of this week, you can add a dude who created a custom pair of sneakers for his girlfriend to the list.

As seen in the video above, Paul proposed to his girlfriend Hazel with a pair of pink sneakers stitched with the words, "Hazel Chu, marry me?" across the back. The Los Angeles man brought his girlfriend to a shoe store, and just as she was about to try on what she thought is a normal pair of sneakers, she notices the unusual words on the back of them, prompting her immediate tears.

At that moment, Paul gets down on one knee and proposes with a diamond ring, while Hazel chokes back tears and nods her head with a resounding "yes."

Shortly after the couple embrace and kiss, Paul pulls out a bottle of bubbly for the two to celebrate. They drink as happy as we hope the future days remain. Cheers Paul and Hazel!
