Groomless bride poses solo in quirky wedding photos

Bridal model Claudia Agres has acted out the perfect wedding experience numerous times in her life.

But when it comes to her personal experience -- it's a little less traditional.

Agres, 21, got married to her husband Matthew Agres, 24, in August 2011 at an impromptu ceremony in their hometown San Antonio, Texas with only two other family members in attendance. No photos were taken at the informal ceremony.

The reason for the rushed ceremony? Air Force pilot Matthew was unexpectedly sent away on an eight month work mission. And while Claudia had always dreamed of a “huge church wedding” they decided to have an informal ceremony right away, but put their proper wedding on hold until Matthew returned.

The problem was about a month after Matthew returned home in the spring of 2012, his job sent him to Germany for three years. So the couple packed their bags to start a new life overseas, but due to their hectic schedules Claudia never got her fairy tale wedding.

“Who knows when I’ll actually get to [have a wedding],” Claudia tells TODAY.com.

Enter award-winning NYC wedding photographer friend Ryan Brenizer to the rescue. He offered to shoot the couple in this past February in London, England, hoping to give Claudia part of her long awaited wedding gift. But as life sometimes does, another curve ball was thrown into the equation and Matthew couldn't make the photo shoot due to work again.

But this time, Claudia wasn't going to be stopped. She bought a plane ticket to London and went by herself.

"The question for me was, 'How do you photograph someone who has been photographed as a bride for a living?’" Brenizer tells TODAY.com.

"How do you make it special? You don’t want her to feel like it’s just another job."

As it turns out, he really did make it special. Claudia is featured in a series of very unique photos with props such as a coat rack, bike, suitcase and fake clouds made of toilet paper.

“To step back and do something that was totally different is always exciting for me,” Brenizer says.

“Everybody sees a pretty girl, a beautiful classic look,” says Claudia. “But this was just fun and different. Not many photographers want to do [that].”

And Brenizer's not finished just yet -- he hopes to make a trip to Germany to photograph the couple together, at long last.

In the mean time, Claudia is still holding out hope for her dream wedding with a mermaid style dress.
