Elvis Presley’s former Beverly Hills home selling for nearly $13-million

Elvis fans, the King's former Beverly Hills home can now be yours — for $12.9 million.

The 1958-built, 5,300-square-foot, four-bedroom French regency estate sits on 1.18 acres that overlook both Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean.

According to Elvis Presley Enterprises, Elvis bought the home at 1174 Hillcrest for $400,000 in 1967. He and Priscilla sold the property for $450,000 in 1973, the year they divorced, MarketWatch reports.

Since the Presleys "left the building," the home has been extensively remodelled, says the listing for the home.

"Just remodeled and renewed with fresh paint and flooring, gorgeous brand new kitchen with professional appliances, new laundry room, upgraded electrical, and resurfaced pool and spa. Spacious public rooms including a formal living room with fireplace, dining room, family room, office, and media room. Private master suite with large master bath and tremendous closet space. Floor-to-ceiling windows and walls of glass in every room frame the shimmering vistas, welcome light and warmth, and allow for the ultimate California indoor/outdoor lifestyle," the listing describes.

An attached guesthouse with bath is also on the property, as is a four-car carport.

But perhaps the most significant evidence of the home's rock 'n' roll history is that one of its gates is covered in Elvis-themed graffiti, tributes from fans visiting their idol's former home.

Before hitting the market, the estate was available to lease for $25,000 a month, the Associated Press reports.

If money were no object, would you choose to live in Elvis' former home? Or would the nosey fans staring through your gate drive you crazy?
