Cheers! ‘Heir Raiser’ beer celebrates Prince George’s birth

He's still (way) too young to drink, but that didn't stop a British brewery from naming a beer after him.

Heir Raiser is McMullen Brewery's way of celebrating — and cashing in on — the birth of His Royal Highness, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.

The special ale, which is 4 per cent alcohol, is being described as a "light coloured, crisp refreshing pint with a light, hoppy finish," Drinks Business reports.

According to McMullen Brewery, Heir Raiser is "a golden bitter made with a careful blend of English grown Progress, Fuggle and Bramling Cross hops with Ale and Crystal malts to give a well-balanced bitter with delicate fruit and floral notes."

Heir Raiser is currently being served at the brewery's Duchess of Cambridge Pub in Berkshire, opposite Windsor Castle, where it has been received "extremely well."

"The day after the baby is born, we are going to be throwing a party with tea and cakes," Daniell Park, manager of the pub, told the Press Association before Prince George's birth.

"We have got some banners ready to go up when we find out whether it’s a boy or a girl. We have also got our special McMullen’s beer which is already proving to be very popular."

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has reportedly tasted the beer.

This isn't the first royalty-themed beer from the brewery.

In 2011, McMullen Brewery introduced Royal Wedding Ale to help celebrate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's nuptials.

Similarly, Castle Rock Brewery offered Kiss Me Kate, an "elegant" beer to commemorate the royal wedding.
