British model claims to have the world’s longest legs

The Internet was abuzz last week when an 18-year-old Russian model won her country's 'longest legs' competition with gams measuring a whopping 42 inches long.

But now, a 20-year-old Blackpool, U.K model who claims to have the world's longest legs is planning to enter the Russian competition next year, in what could be a major upset.

At six foot one inch tall, Alexandra Robertson has legs that measure a staggering 47 inches -- five inches longer than the woman who took home the Russian competition's longest leg title.

"I get lots of people staring in the street and if I am dressed up in heels for a night out in Blackpool there will be plenty of comments, but it doesn't bother me," the blond-haired blue-eyed beauty tells the Blackpool Gazette.

Robertson is a musical theatre university student in her third year who also models with agency Angels Elite.

She maintains that men find her towering stature intimidating, but her six-foot tall boyfriend isn't too bothered by it.

"He did ban me from wearing really high heels when I'm with him, though, because I tower over him," says Robertson, whose height runs in her family.

"I often hear things like 'Do you play basketball?' but I just turn around and reply 'No, do you play mini-golf?' and we end up having a laugh."

Robertson admits that finding pants that are long enough can be a real challenge and she often finds herself making a special trip to Manchester to buy them.

While it remains to be seen whether the organizers of the Russian competition will allow a foreigner to join their pageant, if they do, the world may see a new Miss Long Legs.
