How much do you love your spouse? Enough to name all fifteen of your children after them?

When Brazilian woman Erotides Brandao got pregnant for the first time, she and her husband agreed to name their daughter Walterlucia, as a tribute to the husband's first name Walter.

The trend continued for an additional 14 sons and daughters later, and to this day all her children are named Walter.

''He asked to put his name on all of our children," Brandao told Brazilian news station Globo last year. She was 88 years-old at the time.

To simplify things, the couple decided to add traditional female and male names to the end of Walter.

The corresponding names are as follows: Walterlivia, Walterlenia, Walterlonia, Walterlacia, Walterluzia, Walterluana, Walterangelina, Waltersilviana, Walteremanuel, Walterluis, Walteroliver, Waltermarcelo, Walterlicinio and Walterfernando.

''I didn't know so many [children] would come, but we never knew how to say no to each other,'' said Brandao.

Unfortunately, Walter died in 2003 at age 81. Though he might be proud to know that 33 of his grandchildren are also named Walter.

Brazilian naming traditions markedly differ from Western ones. For example, it is not uncommon for Brazilians to only go by one nickname, because often their full names are long and tedious to remember.

Often people in Brazil have two surnames, one from the mother and the other from the father. And sometimes they have two first names, as is the case with the Brandao children.
