Amy Poehler offers lessons on body acceptance days after announcing divorce

In the latest installment of her web series "Smart Girls at the Party," hilarious comedian and everywoman Amy Poehler tackles a tough viewer-submitted question:

"What advice would give to a young woman with body issues?"

Poehler's answer is surprisingly heartfelt and helpful. Glamour blogger Sarah Jio calls the response "the best body image advice you may hear from a celeb."

"Sometimes a good way to help yourself get out of it is to have some gratitude," Poehler says in the "Ask Amy" episode.

"If you can go around your body and kind of thank it for what it gives you and thank yourself for your great eyesight, or your thick hair, or your nice legs, or your strong teeth or whatever it is that you have that you were given…The earlier you learn that you should focus on what you have, and not obsess about what you don't have, the happier you will be. You really will be happier in life if you let go of the things you will never have."

Having just announced her pending divorce to fellow funny man Will Arnett last week, Poehler touches on the subject of love with remarkable grace and positivity.

"'There's a lid for every pot.' That's what my nana used to say. And you deserve love and you'll get it," she shares.
