With eyelashes and legs that go on for miles, it's no wonder several scouts honed in on this young brunette, who grew up in Orillia, Ont. After passing on offers made while working at a hamburger joint and at the mall, the third time–approached by a scout during a game with her high-school basketball team–was the charm. Now 20, Laine has graced glossies and runways worldwide, including an exclusive for Emilio Pucci's Spring 2012 collection. "I won't forget how very kind [designer] Peter [Dundas] was in thanking me for working with him that week, when really I could not have thanked him enough for giving me that experience."
Spring Fever: "I would love to add a Pucci scarf skirt to my spring wardrobe. They're perfect for hot summer days in New York or at the beach."
Basic Beauty: "Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine gives my lips a little extra punch of colour without overdoing it."

"The castings were crazy, but you always felt accomplished at the end of the day." Fresh out of high school, she plans to take a year off to pursue modelling full-time. With her tall frame and gorgeous girl-next-door looks, runway, campaign and editorial work all seem within reach.

The Seasoned Star: Heather Marks
Known for her delicate heart-shaped face, this Calgary-born catwalker and three-time FLARE cover girl is an international veteran. Nine years after her runway debut at Givenchy's couture show–with a long list of top model moments since–Marks flew to Paris to walk exclusively for the house's spring '12 ready-to-wear show. "The show was so beautiful, the music was great and the atmosphere had a really positive energy," says Marks, 23. "They brought a group of girls that I hadn't seen in forever–Natalia Vodianova, Gisele Bündchen, Karolina Kurkova and Erin Wasson."

This runway fixture knows what it's like to grow up fast. Discovered when she was 14 at a mall in Vancouver, Van Mook opened the Givenchy fall show three years later. "By 17 I had my own place in New York and started full-time modelling," she explains. She's since logged major runway mileage, including spring shows for Preen, DKNY and L'Wren Scott. No matter the show, one thing never changes: "I always have my music with me backstage," says the 20-year-old, who loves dubstep and house beats. "It keeps me awake after a long day and puts me in a good mood."
Surf's Up: "I love the wavy beach hair look. I use sea-salt spray and a curling iron to make the waves."

Beauvais was all of 13 when a photographer discovered her on a flight to Hawaii. A second trip at the age of 18, this time to London for Fashion Week, proved equally monumental. "It was amazing to walk the Temperley London show in such a beautiful location–it was at the Royal British Museum." With that experience under her belt, she's now set her sights on Chanel. "The runways and clothes look like something from a fairy tale," she says. "I would love to be a part of that."
Shine On: "A makeup artist in New York used Vaseline on my eyelids to give them a glossy look, which I really liked. It's a trick that I use often now."
The Great White: "I'd love to add an all-white look to my wardrobe this spring. I love how crisp and fresh it looks."

A six-year hiatus did nothing to quash Winkler's catwalk credit. Now a mother of two, the Toronto native came back in a big way for Spring 2012, walking several New York shows, including Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren and Marchesa. Though she looked as striking as ever, the 33-year-old felt different this time around. "Before I had kids, I was always searching for something more," she confesses. "Now that I have that, I feel complete. It helps your confidence because it's not the end of the world if you fall over."
Hitting the Barre
"My training as a ballet dancer has helped me as a model, because I was used to staring at myself in the mirror trying to make things look perfect"
Green Queen
"I use Burt's Bees tinted lip balms a lot. I try to buy all-natural and paraben-free beauty products."
Starting her international career with a major milestone, the Toronto native was hand-picked by Miuccia Prada to walk exclusively for Prada and Miu Miu at the spring 2012 shows. "I was about to get onto the runway and she pulled me aside and said, "Congratulations, you're here!'" Leyes recalls. "It was incredible." With sharp green eyes, silky skin and a friendly manner as unfussy as her ear-length locks, the 19-year-old beauty is fashion's full package.
Line 'Em Up: "I usually wear nude makeup, but if I'm going out I like to put on a bit of mascara and eyeliner."
Colour Correct: "Any time I get red, I use Avene Thermal Spring Water. Once I got a huge mosquito bite on my face right before a shoot, but I sprayed the thermal water on it and even though the bump was still there, the redness was gone-miracle!"
A competitive dancer since the age of six, Schill was often told that her long, lean frame was a perfect fit for modelling. "I wasn't sure if I had what it took, but I sent a cellphone picture to Ford Models and they called back the next day," she says. Nearly three years later, the big-eyed beauty booked a tight schedule for New York Spring 2012 Fashion Week with more than a dozen shows, including Vena Cava and Catherine Malandrino. "I remember looking up and staring right in the face of Jordin Sparks with her iPhone," Schill, 18, recalls from the Chris Benz show. "To think she was taking a picture of me was incredibly surreal."
Suds Up: "I love Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. I have to wash my hair every day, and this doesn't dry it out. It also has a great lather and leaves my hair feeling incredibly clean."
Charmed: "My mom always gives me a lucky penny that I keep in my pocket until she visits next. I make sure to have it during castings and shows."
After a year off the runways, the 24-year-old returned in full force, opening Miu Miu and walking for Prada and Proenza Schouler. "I tend to enjoy the photography side of modelling more," she confesses, "but I like randomly popping up at the shows every once in a while when I am requested." Known for her wide-set eyes and full, dark fringe, the stunner has scored many ad campaigns, including Prada's for Spring 2012, plus major shows around the world. Her pre-strut secret? "I say a mini prayer that I don't fall on my face!"
Off-Duty Outings: "I love antique hunting with my boyfriend. I'm always in search of treasures that catch my eye. The more unique, the better!"
Touch of Flush: "I'm quite pale, so Stila Convertible Colour Lip and Cheek Cream in Lillium helps me look more lively."
A Toronto Fashion Week mainstay, the breathtaking Kenyan owes her start to one of the city's top designers. "My break came when David Dixon saw me walking down- town and turned his truck around to give me his information," explains Lokuruka. "I opened his show that fall." She's since become known in the city's fashion circles for her confident, easy walk, which she'd love to bring to Diane von Furstenberg's runway one day. "I've admired the woman and her clothes for as long as I can remember."
Vintage Glitz: "I'm dying to get my hands on a sequined party dress, circa the 1920s. I think every girl deserves that one fun piece in her wardrobe!"
Two-Timer: "I recently learned the fantastic trick of using lipstick as blush at a show. It was not something I had ever though of trying but it works amazingly well."
She's already been likened to a young Iman and was nominated for the coveted Best New Face award at the P&G Beauty & Grooming Awards in Toronto last year. For Spring 2012, her first New York Fashion Week included stints for DKNY, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Elie Tahari and Rachel Zoe. But it was her Paris debut at Issey Miyake that really left an impression, where the brand's new designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae was also making his premiere. "At the end of the show, everyone was so happy that they all cried backstage, tears of joy," says the 16-year-old. "It was so amazing."
Face First: "It's really important to take care of your skin. Don't leave your makeup on for too long, eat healthy and drink lots of water so that your skin will have that glow."
Fringe Benefit: "I love mascara. Revlon Grow Luscious is my ultimate favourite. You're not supposed to show up for a show with your hair or makeup done, but I'm always showing up with a bit of mascara."
