7 Tips for Looking Hot in Lingerie

Planning on slipping into something sexy this Valentine's Day? We've got tips from lingerie-expert Jene Luciani on what to buy and how to look good in it.

1. Color Counts

"You can never go wrong with black. Men think it's very sexy, and it's slimming for a lot of women," says Luciani. "Avoid white. It's really reserved for the wedding night, but it's generally not super sexy and can be an unflattering color on a lot of skin tones."

2. Red Hot

"As a rule, guys tend to like the sexy, red, lacy, Fredrick's of Hollywood lingerie. It's often different from what women tend to go for, which is usually something really girly and feminine like the blush pinky babydoll set," explains Luciani.

3. Think Sexy

When you're caught between racy styles and romantic frills, think about what that guy you dated in high school would've drooled over. Un-shockingly, males prefer the traditionally sexy stuff over anything too trendy or fashion-forward. "Men just go for sexy."

4. What to Wear Out

Lingerie newbies are forgiven for being bewildered at how to actually wear all the pieces they're presented with. Half of them would never fit sleekly under clothes, and pronouncing you need to go change as soon  as you get home from a date feels, well, unsexy.

5. Date Night Duds

As a go-to date night look, Luciani suggests wearing a matching push-up bra, panties, and garter belt with thigh-highs under your LBD. "That's always what you see in the movies when the woman undresses!"

6. Undercover Agent

Want to go bigger? She suggests trying a corset (but skip the mask like this chick). "Wear one under a dress or with jeans and a blazer so the corset looks kind of like a top. Get home and peel off everything except for the corset!"

7. On Yonder Balcony

And what to do if a push-up doesn't flatter your bod? Try a balconette bra which pushes breasts in and up, or a plunge style that can create gorgeous cleavage. "Bottom line, your breasts should look like two separate lumps, not like they've been pushed into one mass." The bra doctor's spoken!
